Higher Energy Efficiency with the new Standby Function

Today, many electrical devices are equipped with a so-called power-saving mode. Now also presses from Heidelberg follow this trend. Reduce the energy demand without shutting down the printing press is now possible very easily. Peripherals and individual modules in the machine enter the power saving mode just by pressing the standby button at the Prinect Press Center. Using the standby function, the energy consumption can be reduced significantly. The start-up is much faster than after a reboot of the machine.

It pays off when the print engine must not be turned off.

However, in the daily operation downtimes occur again and again. Aggregates, which not needed during these periods, will be shut down using the standby function. This helps to save energy. Savings of 1 to 15kW depending on the format and length of the machine can be achieved by using the standby function. On a yearly basis and with only one hour standby daily a printing company can save as much energy as a family household needs. Another advantage is the possibility for the operator to decide, depending on the situation, whether he wants to use the standby or not.

The ease of use and a quick machine start-up makes the standby function also useful for shorter interruptions. The energy savings makes the production with the Heidelberg presses even more effectively and economically.
