Description

RYOBI PDS-E model features a manual scanning system.

The RYOBI PDS-E print density control system is an optional component for the RYOBI PCS-H, PCS-G, and PCS-K print control systems. The RYOBI PDS-E uses a manually operated scanning densitometer to measure the density of the color bar on a printed sheet. It then calculates the differences in ink density between the values measured on the printed sheet and those of a standard or target sheet (referred to as an "OK sheet"). This data is transmitted to the RYOBI PCS-H, PCS-G, or PCS-K print control system, which adjusts the opening of the ink fountain keys. This entire process ensures rapid and accurate color correction. Print quality can be monitored based on precise numerical data, which reduces the number of test prints required and results in higher-quality output. Once the spectrophotometer has scanned the color scale on the printed sheet, the system calculates the adjustments needed to match the color density of the OK sheet. These values are fed back into the system that controls the ink fountain key openings, thereby automating color adjustment. A polarizing filter with an automatic activation feature is included as standard equipment; it engages during the forward scan to measure color density and disengages during the return scan to allow for accurate measurement of color hue.
