Granted that profit is the typical aim of partnership or stock companies, we believe that it is necessary to analyse what are the ways that allow to achieve this purpose according to a code of ethics and those that should not be followed.
Certainly the faster way could be avoiding difficulties, cheating the customer or supplier on small amounts or on insignificant deals. This behaviour becomes a real problem when it represents the normal and only way to do business. If this is the easiest way, we strongly think that it is the least lasting, considering that nowadays information spread so quickly and there is no time nor chance for cheaters.
In our world, even though it’s small, we are very pleased to say that none of our customers or suppliers raised objections against us. Unfortunately, it is us who have opened some small disputes with some customers and suppliers, who clearly are not up-to-date with the market.
Many times we have given up the idea of the profit just to solve the problems of customers, which, in some cases, had been caused by other companies involved in the deal. We have always mantained our words given at the moment of the order from the customer, even in those period when contracts can become waste paper; no matter whether we had to decrease our profit, the important thing was and is still now not to do a poor figure with the customer ready to buy our machines.
Up till now we can assert to have avoided frauds by unscrupulous companies, many times thanks to us ourselves, other times for a good luck. Fortunately now that we are strong enough, we have no fear to face unethical people because we are aware that loyalty and fairness are going to win.
Our Code of Ethics
This code expresses the moral commitments and responsibilities in running business affairs and activities that WGM’s collaborators and connected firms take upon theirselves, no matter whether they are directors or employees of any kind in these companies.
Our mission
The mission World Graphic Machine is to be the more efficient trading company in used Heidelberg & Polar equipment. It is oriented to the international market and to the service quality, with the main purposes to create value for shareholders, to satisfy customers and to set off all the people that work for it.
A cooperative approach towards stakeholders
World Graphic Machine aims to mantain and develop a relationship of trust with its stakeholders, meaning those categories of individuals, groups or institutions which play a role in the accomplishment of WGM’s mission, or which, in any case, have an interest in the pursuit of that mission. Stakeholders are those who make investments tied to the activities of World Graphic Machine, meaning, first and foremost, the shareholders, followed by staff members, customers, suppliers and business partners. In a broader sense, the term refers to all those individuals or groups, as well as the organisations or institutions which represent them, whose interests are directly or indirectly affected by the activities of World Graphic Machine.
Unethical conduct
Unethical conduct in the performance of business activities compromises the relationship of trust between Enel and its stakeholders. Unethical behaviour - which favours attitudes of hostility towards the Group - includes attempts on the part of anyone, either an individual or an organisation, to reap the benefits from the contributions of others by exploiting positions of power.
The value of a good reputation and fiduciary duties
A good reputation is an essential intangible resource. A good reputation in external relations favours investments by shareholders, client loyalty, the recruiting of the best human resources, supplier’s peace of mind and reliability in the eyes of creditors. In terms of internal affairs, a good reputation makes it possible to take decisions and implement them without friction, organising work activities without bureaucratic controls and an excessive use of authority.
The value of reciprocity
Inherent in the code is an ideal of cooperation meant to work to the mutual advantage of the parties involved, in accordance with the role of each one. For this reason, World Graphic Machine requests that each stakeholder deals with the company according to principles and rules based on a similar idea of ethical conduct.
Validity and application of the code
The code of ethics applies to World Graphic Machine S.r.l. and all the companies connected with it, meaning that it is binding for the conduct of all the staff members of those companies. In addition, World Graphic Machine requests that the conduct of all its associated enterprises, as well as its chief suppliers, comply with the general principles of the present code. The code of ethics is valid both in Italy and abroad, albeit in accordance with the cultural, social and economic differences in the various countries.
